How we rate
Our review desk is small, three editors working out of a workshop in Manchester, and our process is deliberately old-fashioned. Each operator is examined over several weeks against a fixed rubric. We do not run live odds, we do not display real-time wager counters, and we do not publish minute-precision ‘last updated’ ticks. Reviews are dated and revised when the underlying facts change.
-
i.
Licence integrity
Each operator’s UKGC account number is verified against the Gambling Commission’s public register. We link the number directly so readers can confirm the entry themselves.
-
ii.
Account controls
We open an account and walk through the responsible-gambling tools, deposit limits, reality checks, time-outs, self-exclusion, to confirm they are present, accessible and free to set without friction.
-
iii.
Payments and withdrawals
Listed payment methods are tested. We assess clarity of withdrawal-time disclosure rather than chasing the fastest payout, which we regard as marketing noise.
-
iv.
Honesty of the welcome offer
We read the bonus terms in full. Operators whose headline copy materially disagrees with the small print are marked down regardless of other strengths.
-
v.
Editorial independence
We earn commission when readers open accounts through our links. This pays for the workshop, the kettle and the printer ink. It does not change the order of the ranking, operators we rate poorly are not removed.
